2. The Right Beard for Your Face Shape

The first thing is identifying your face shape. Measure the distance between your cheekbones, forehead, and jawline. After that, the distance between your chin and crown. The longest measurement tells how is your face shaped.

3. Round or Square Face Shape

These two face shapes look wider than the others, so you should shape your beard in a way that will make it look longer. For balance, keep the sideburns and the cheeks shorter and let the hairs grow gradually longer on the bottom of your chin.

4. Oblong, Rectangular, and Triangular Face Shapes

1. Find your Adam’s apple and place two fingers above it. The top of your fingers points to the bottom point of where the neckline should be.
2. Tilt your head downward. A crease will form where the underside of your jaw meets the top of your neck. Put your finger on the crease and straighten your head. Voila – neckline!

7. What To Do With Sideburns

Sideburns should be shaped to look like a transition from hair to beard. Men with short hairstyles should blend the sideburns with the hair to look like they disappear at the top of the ears. Those with longer hair should let the sideburns grow above and below the ears, but keep them clean and neat.

8. Trimming a Whole Beard

To avoid clipper/trimmer accidents start with the longest length attachment your clipper/trimmer set has. Slowly work your way down until you hear the blades start cutting. Stop there, if all you want is to even the hair out.

9. How to Trim a Mustache

After washing and drying the mustache, use the beard comb to identify the true length. A properly shaped mustache shouldn’t cover your upper lip. Beard scissors are the best tool in this case. The line of your lips is the line you should follow when shaping your mustache.

10. Feeding Your Beard

Apply beard oil to moisturize your skin and facial hair. Beard oil is your friend regardless of the length of your hair.
